Accessibility statement and help

How this website meets the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW 3.0) and WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and how to use its accessibility features.

Accessibility statement

Development Management Institute is committed to ensuring that this website is accessible to all users, irrespective of device, technology or ability, in line with the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. The website is designed to comply with the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW 3.0) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, and follows the Digital Brand Identity Manual (DBIM) of the Government of India.

What we have done

  • Every page has a “Skip to main content” link, a logical heading structure and labelled landmarks.
  • All features work with a keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus indicator.
  • Images have text alternatives; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
  • Text and background colours meet a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1, and a high-contrast scheme is available.
  • Text can be resized up to 125% with the A+ control, and up to 200% with browser zoom, without loss of content.
  • Moving content — the photo slideshow and the partner logos — can be paused, and stops automatically if your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Form fields have visible labels, required fields are marked, and errors are described in text.
  • Links to files state the format and size, for example “PDF, 40 KB”.
  • The Hindi version of navigation and headings is available from the language control at the top of every page.

Known limitations

  • Some older PDF documents and scanned press clippings are images of text. Contact us for an accessible copy.
  • Videos are hosted on YouTube; captions depend on YouTube's automatic captioning.
  • Hindi translation currently covers navigation and headings; full-text Hindi is in progress.
